Meet Sierra Sangetti-Daniels and the 2018 Bright Hill Team

Sierra Sangetti-Daniels, Grants & Administration Assistant Intern

Sierra is currently a senior at the State University of New York at Oneonta where she is studying Communications. Sierra is a freelance writer for the Daily Star regional newspaper where she covers various local events and channels her millennial enthusiasm into a personal column. Her writing focuses heavily on the power of diction, kindness, and social media – specifically the impact these subjects make on society. Additionally she contributes a variety of  feature stories and seasonal fashion pieces for Upstate Life magazine. Sierra is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and plans to return to the big city upon graduation in May.

Amanda Hauburger, Marketing and Administrative Intern

Amanda assists with implementing social media campaigns, creating content, grant writing, and a variety of other tasks. Amanda lives in Rockland County, New York where she graduated from Tappan Zee High School in 2014. She presently attends SUNY Oneonta and plans to graduate this May with a Bachelors in Communication Studies. Amanda previously earned her Associates Degree in Humanities and Social Sciences as an honors student from Rockland Community College in 2016. While there, she was the Social Media Intern for Campus Communications where she promoted an array of events, ran the school’s social media accounts, and wrote blogs, among other things. Outside of classes, Amanda is an editor for WireTV, the campus television station, and is also a sister of the Alpha Kappa Phi sorority as the Intergreek Council Delegate and previously the Public Relations chair. She is passionate about the outdoors, enjoying hiking, skiing, and taking her two dogs on long walks.

 

 

 

 

Amber MercadoAmber Mercado, Editorial & Administrative Intern

Amber is a senior at SUNY Oneonta majoring in English with a minor in Mass Communication. When she graduates from SUNY Oneonta she hopes to find a job the publishing industry. Amber originates from the not so far away land of Medford, Long Island, NY, where everyone’s currently really excited about the new Dairy Queen that just opened. She is the current President of the Creative Writing Club on campus as well. When she finds time to write, she dives into her own little fictitious world throwing words like “cacophonous” and “whimsical” around. One day she hopes to get some of her stories published and share them with the world. While interning at Bright Hill, Amber wants to learn more about the publishing industry and is eager to help out in any way she can. So far, she’s already been inspired by all the hard work she’s seen everyone else putting into the company and wants to match it. She’s excited for all the things to come this year and hopes for the best.

 

 

Heather Van ZileHeather Van Zile,  Accounting and Administrative Intern

Heather Van Zile is an Accounting and Administrative Assistant for Bright Hill Press and Literary Center of the Catskills where she is assisting with grant writing and daily business accounting functions. She is currently a student at State University of New York at Oneonta where she is studying Professional Accounting. She has qualified for the Provost’s List and the Dean’s List and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma the International Business Honor Society in the Fall of 2017. She is also an active member of the Accounting Society and the Student Advisory Council at SUNY Oneonta. Along with her interest in accounting Heather also has a passion for the arts. She studied at State University of New York, Empire State College where she received her Associate in the Arts, in Art, with a concentration in Visual Arts. She enjoys expressing herself through many mediums; mainly drawing and photography. Her main goal is to combine her knowledge in both fields of study to create her ideal career. Her free time is spent with her family and gardening.
