Word and Image Gallery Exhibit Opening – Gail Bunting
October 5 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Gail Bunting grew up in the Hudson valley, where her mother taught her a love of woodland flowers and a hopeful outlook regarding the existence of elves and fairies. Her father taught her a tender regard for all small creatures that were not eating his vegetable garden. In her diversified life she was employed in book production, horse training, woodworking and dairy farming. Gail Bunting’s intricate naturalist egg tempera paintings consistently won prizes and awards. Her work was featured in the April 2001 issue of the New York State Conservationist magazine and one of her paintings appeared on the cover. Gail’s paintings have been exhibited at the Arnot Museum in Elmira, NY, the Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson, NY, the Kubiak Gallery in Oneonta, NY, the Mountaintop Gallery in Windham, the Mural Gallery in Woodstock, the West Kortright Center, the Volcano Editions gallery in Oneonta, and annually right here at the Stagecoach Run Art Festival in her hometown of Treadwell, NY. Gail was one of the earliest artists participating in Stagecoach Run Art Festival during the July 4th weekend in Treadwell and Franklin, New York. She passed away in November 2018.
Show runs from October 5 – October 25.
