WORD THURSDAYS – MILLICENT BORGES ACCARDI and ELIZABETH MAXEY

Millicent Borges Accardi (Topanga Canyon, CA) is the author of three poetry books, most recently, Only More So (Salmon Poetry 2016).  She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, Fulbright, CantoMundo, California Arts Council, Barbara Deming, Foundation for Contemporary Arts (NYC), Fundação Luso-Americana (FLAD). Libby Maxey (Amherst, Massachusetts) is a senior editor at Literary Mama. Her poems have appeared in Emrys, Pirene’s Fountain, Stoneboat and elsewhere, and her first poetry collection, Kairos, won Finishing Line Press’s 2018 New Women’s Voices Chapbook Competition. Her nonliterary activities include singing classical repertoire, mothering two sons, and administering the Department of Classics at Amherst College.
