Anansi, Arachne, Iktomi, Ts’its’tsi’nake, Spider Woman or Man — Spider brings the world to us in the web that now we see, now we don’t. Intricate and mesmerizing as it is, we might not notice it until we walk into it and are startled as a poem startles us into seeing things made new through arresting, memorable, well-crafted design. As when a tulip shows its backside for our wonderment.
